Patrick Crowley, Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Observable Networks

.Patrick Crowley has served as our chief technology officer since 2013 and is responsible for the evolution and evangelism of the company’s technical strategy. For over a decade, Patrick has been a leading researcher on deep packet inspection (DPI) technologies within various academic, commercial, and government communities. In 2011, Patrick founded Observable Networks to bring to market the company’s continuous device profiling (CDP) technology.

Additionally, Patrick is Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. His research interests are in computer and network systems architecture, with a current focus on the design of programmable embedded network systems and the invention of superior network monitoring and security techniques.

Patrick also co-founded the ACM/IEEE Symposium on Architectures for Networking and Communications Systems, and co-edited the three-book series, Network Processor Design. He is co-author of the 2012 textbook entitled Modern Embedded Computing and serves as Associate Editor of the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking.
