John Christly

John Christly, CISO at Netsurion, a provider of remotely-managed security services for multi-location businesses, is an MSI Senior Fellow™ and has many years of experience in technical and cybersecurity related operational, project, and program management both domestically and internationally. His experience includes several industry regulations including HIPAA, HITECH, GLBA, FERPA, FCPA, FIPA, and PCI.
His former roles include serving as the CISO and HIPAA Security Officer for Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He was also the co-founder and CEO for OMC Systems, a Florida-based cybersecurity advisory firm. John was also the head of IT Security and HIPAA Security Officer for Memorial Healthcare System, a multi-hospital public healthcare system. He also served as the Chief of Security Officer for eTERA Consulting, a forensics and eDiscovery firm located in Washington, D.C.

As a highly accomplished author, Mr. Christly’s articles have appeared in publications such as Security Magazine, Executive Insight Magazine, 24/7 Magazine, and the ISSA Journal. He is also a frequent speaker at regional and national healthcare and security events.
